It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Lee Hill of Chesapeake, Virginia, who passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Bridgers and Turner Moore of Tarboro; her grandparents, Minnie and Isaac Bridgers; her sisters, Aileen Bridgers Graham, Elizabeth "Ray" Bridgers Eason, Mary Hussey and Bertha Johnson; her husband Johnny Hill; and her grandson Clifford McMurray III.
She is survived by: her sons, Cleverson Hill (Pinkey) and Stevenson Hill (Brenda); her daughter-in-law Virginia Hill (late Melvin Hill); her grandchildren, Michelle Ames, Curtis Rozier, Delequence Hill (Amy), Malissa Hill Edwards (Raymond), Sharlene Hayes (Anthony), Connie Harris, Zelda Brown (Orlando), April McMurray-White (George), Precious Hill, Tyaneshia Hardee, Sean Hill and Aaron Hardee; and her friends, Stacey Adkins-Bond, Theresa Adkins, Christin Adkins, Cynthia Wood and Reverend Sandra Mitchner.
