It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Tripp (Chesapeake, Virginia), who passed away on February 1, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her aunts and uncles, Izell Pierce, Lindwood Pierce, Annie Watford, Marida Harrell and Ophilia Revelle; her sister Jeanette Kelly; her siblings-in-law, Katie Jordon, May Thomas, Fannie Brantley, Annie Jane Hill, Francis Tripp, Alonzo Tripp and James Tripp; her niece Mary Louis Perry; and her daughter Althea J. Tripp.

She is survived by: her husband John Tripp Sr.; her children, John Tripp Jr. Boise Idaho (Judith), Patrick Henry Tripp (Genitia) of Fairburn, Vencent Tripp (Mary), Fayetteville North Carolina, Duncan Alexander Tripp, Teresa Whitehurst of Chesapeake and Denise Gipson of Chesapeake; her nephews, Robert Tripp (Ola) and Nicholas T. Josey Dorchester; her great-niece Rhonda Perry; her grandchildren, Joy Hodnett, Katrina Tripp, Leandrea Tripp, Patricia Brown, Patrick L. Tripp, John Isaiah Tripp, Yedail Whitehurst III and Lashawn A. Gipson; her great grandchildren, Amari Grace Tripp, Kollin Brown and Kristian Brown; and her children, Barbara Rogers Parker of Chesapeake, Virginia Hills, Jacqueline Lewis Oxon Hills and Smallwood Holoman Jr..
