He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward F. Irvin and Carolyn Irvin; and his brother William Irvin. He is survived by: his siblings, Byron C. Irvin of Chesapeake, Barry H. Irvin (Rosemary) of Norfolk and Brenda Powers of Chesapeake. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
