It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eliza James of Chesapeake, Virginia, who passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roscoe Cuffee and Corean Cuffee (Wilson); her husband Quinton C. James, Jr.; her son Curtiss N. James; her siblings, Rosa Mae Lassiter, Corine Wilson, James Cuffee, Roscoe Cuffee, Jr. and Russell Cuffee, Sr.; and her grandson Daniel Maurice Riddick (Damon).
She is survived by: her sons, Quinton C. James, III, Aaron L. James, Sr. (AeRan) and Vernon M. James; her stepdaughter Cathy Griffin Riddick (Darrell); and her caregivers, Hattie Creekmore, Bonnie Silvers and Yvonne Griffin. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
