He is survived by: his wife Anita Dillon; his sons, Matthew Fender (Rebecca) of Richmond and Stephen Fender (Courtney) of Ashland; his stepchildren, Michelle Downs (David) of Chesapeake and Joseph Goodman (Valerie) of Auburn, MA; his sister Susan Fender (David) of New York; and his grandchildren, Sydney Hulett (Joshua), Gracie Fender, Rachel Fender, John Fender, Abigail Simmons, Zoe Wisen (Tim), Phoebe Simmons, Liam Simmons, Everett Downs, Leo and Victoria. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
