He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Smith and Ruth Peoples Smith; his brother Richard Smith (Dickie); and his grandson Eric R. Smith, II. He is survived by: his wife Laverne E. Smith; his sons, Frederick T. Smith (Kelly) of Flagler Beach, FL, Eric R. Smith (Diana) of Chesapeake, VA and Alex F. Smith (Bonni) of Chesapeake, VA; and his grandchildren, Frederick T. Smith, Jr. of Oviedo, FL, Leland T. Smith and Thomas F. Smith of Chesapeake, VA.
