He was predeceased by: his parents, George D. Owens Sr. and Sadie Owens; his siblings, Leona Chappell, Kathleen Dickerson and James Owens; his former wives, Betsy Owens and Maxine Owens; and his son Randy Turner.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Cartwright Owens; and his children, Terrie Geddes, Mark Owens, Pattie Cartwright, Betty Cawthra and Shirley Morris. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to New Creation United Methodist Church.
