He was predeceased by: his parents, James Bishop Stephens and Mary Helen Hodgkinson Stephens. He is survived by: his wife Betty Sue Stephens (Wiggins); and his children, Gary Michael Stephens (Cathey) of Oakland, TN, Carol Elaine Detmar (Charles) of Greensboro, NC, Mary Ellen Mitchell (Phillip) of Chesapeake, VA, Patricia Lynn Gometz (Charles) of Midlothian, VA and David Austin Stephens (Lisa) of Chesapeake, VA. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
