It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Smith Cartwright of Chesapeake, Virginia, born in Capeville, Virginia, who passed away on October 10, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley Smith, Jr. and Bessie Elliott Smith; her husband Clayton Eugene Cartwright; and her siblings, Wesley Smith, Richard Smith, Daisy Hodge, Minnie Qualls and Charlotte Forbes.

She is survived by: her children, Joyce Cartwright (Russy Master) of Port St, Terri Kremenski (Martin) of Fairfax, VA and Clayton Cartwright (Linda) of Pine Mountain, GA; and her grandson Elliott Kremenski of Fairfax, VA. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
