With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jo Ann Harris of Chesapeake, Virginia, who passed away on August 2, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Jo Ann leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Steele and Genevieve Steele; her siblings, Mary Lou Gates and Thomas Steele; and her brothers-in-law, Ben Gates and Paul Young Jr..
She is survived by: her daughter Lori; her sister Anita Young; her nephews, Jeremy and Ryan Young; and her family Jo Ann. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
