It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan C. West of Chesapeake, Virginia, who passed away on March 16, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond H. West and Alferetta Randolph West; and her sons, Dale R. Dietrich and Willie O. Richardson III. She is survived by: her children, Alan J. Dietrich, Theresa D. Hilliard (David K. Hilliard) and Rhonda G. Lovell (William "Bill" Lovell); and her grandchildren, Ricardo Marques (Melissa), Christopher Marques, Christopher Girouard (Erica), Monique Pellegrin (Joshua) and Benjamin Deshotels (Amber). She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses through jw.org or to a local Kingdom Hall.
