He was predeceased by: his father Jesse J. Wilson; and his sister Margaret A. Cromsigt. He is survived by: his mother Alice O. Wilson; his grandfather John S. Hughes (Carol); his siblings, Ronald K. Wilson (Jennifer), Jeana D. Hadden (Leon) and Amy E. Snively; his niece Hayley (Justin); and his nephews, Ronnie, Dalton, Devon, Brandon, Justin and Marinus.

Throughout his life, John made significant contributions to his community.
