It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Henry Sanderlin Sr. of Chesapeake, Virginia, born in Norfolk, Virginia, who passed away on April 24, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Henry Sanderlin and Beatrice Wilson Sanderlin; and his stepdaughter Valarie Williams. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Locker Sanderlin; his children, Francais L. Chapman, Timothy Wright, Janice V. Sanderlin, Gwendolyn Tanner, Shawnelle R. Sanderlin, John Sanderlin, Jr. and Omar N. Sanderlin; his stepdaughters, Sheraldine Bland, Sandra Coureton, Gale Calloway and Wanda Hazelwood; and his siblings, Beatrice Spady, Gardenia Sanderlin, Mary Y. Sanderlin, Dennis P. Sanderlin, Sr., Eunice Sanderlin, Dorothy S. Wilkinson (John), Glen Sanderlin and Vernon Sanderlin (Rosalynn). He is also survived by nephews, nieces, and cousins.
