“I first met Joe and Karol in the fall of 1958. My late friend and neighbor Bill Marino stole Joe’s 1954 Ford at McGuire AFB and drove it home to Long Island and while peeling out he snapped an axel, Bill asked me to fix the car before Joe found out so I fixed the car and Joe and Karol came by my house to meet the 16 year old kid who worked on their car. We were friends from that day on until they moved to Virginia. I remained friends with Karol up until her Illness. RIP Karol”
