Visitation was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Riddick Funeral Service (1225 Norview Ave, Norfolk, VA 23513-2013). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (900 Middlesex St, Norfolk, VA 23523). A burial was held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Roosevelt Memorial Park (1101 Campostella Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23320).

“I had the privilege of getting to play Bass with Lathan for a number of years in the Duchess Wilder Band and with Urban Hill. Was always amazed at his talent for pulling a song out of seemingly thin air. I enjoyed many long discussions on various things while we rode to different gigs (I always drove and didn't mind) After I moved out of the Va Beach area I lost touch with him and he didn't post a lot on FaceBook. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and I know he will be missed. Kevin Yoder”
