She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Hopkins and Eugenia Hopkins; her former husband Vernon Roosevelt Howerin Jr.; and her son Paul Howerin. She is survived by: her husband Bill Doughtie; her sons, Mark Howerin (Robin) and Scott Howerin (Barbara); and her grandchildren, Sarah Lambourne (Will), David Howerin (Ashley), Kevin Howerin (Liz), Brian Howerin (Samantha), Haley Howerin (Will) and Adam Howerin. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
