She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Nelson and Marianne Nelson; and her husband Joseph P. Shannon, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Joe and Chris Shannon; her sisters, Nancy (Tom Dundorf) and Leslie (Joe Skillington); her niece Allison Frye; and her nephews, Michael Dundorf, Matthew Dundorf, Luke Skillington and Kyle Skillington.

Unknowing at the time, Lisa's decision to donate a kidney to her mother in 2004 enabled them to share 12 additional years of life with one another.
