He was predeceased by: his parents, Sampson Slaughter and Virtley Slaughter; his wife Mattie C. Slaughter (Alston); his brother Eugene Slaughter; and his great grandchild Amadeus Credle.

He is survived by: his sister Junita Slaughter of Norfolk; his children, Reginald Louis Slaughter, Sr. of Greensboro, GA, Adriane B. Credle (Dionysius) and Belva Dee Slaughter-Serrano; and his grandchildren, Jillian R. Slaughter, Reginald L. Slaughter, Jr., Regina M. Slaughter, Natasha N Slaughter, Jeremy White, Rodney Credle, Darryl Credle and Dwight Credle. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear and cherished friends.
