Barnard, Jr. (Ivy), Darryl Lee Otis Barnard (Velvet) and Michael Barnard (Charlene); her adoptive children, Kenneth Sutton (Shela) and Sarah Eason Williams (Melvin); her children, Roderick and Anita Speller; her siblings, Albert James (Shirley), Sandra Knox James and Janice James; her granddaughter Myra Lee of Long Island; her great grandchildren, Mattie Brooks, Doris Johnson, Carolyn Etheridge, Sheila McBeth of Chesapeake, VA and Ethel Moore Taylor of Richmond, VA; and her cousins, Walter Chatman, Jr., Nellie Chatman Johnson, Marie James McDonald, Ethel Alexander Powell of Chesapeake, VA, Margaret Whitehurst of Elizabeth City, NC and Ruby Phillips of Norfolk, VA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
