She was predeceased by: her husband Willie "Super" Simon; her brothers, Cleveland Lancaster and Charlie Lancaster III; her daughter Debbie Short; and her granddaughters, Latricia Moseley, Marvis Gains-Stephens and Marlayna Davis.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Simon, Cynthia Mitchell and Sonya Valentine (Albert Valentine); her grandchildren, Charles Mitchell (Teena Mitchell), Caron Simon, Michael Simon Jr., Jeron Mitchell, Regina Simon, Jimmy Murdock (Shakia Murdock), Mikel Simon and Mykaiah Simon; and her children, Charles Mitchell Sr. and Melvinia Simon. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
