He is survived by: his wife Debora; his children, Tainesha, Malcolm Jr. (Shayla) and Brian; his grandchildren, Caiden Johnson, DaShawn Alston and Leilani Hall; his parents, George Johnson and Doris Johnson; his siblings, George S. Johnson (Mary), Ellen Harrison (Chris) and Yolonda Mosley (Anthony); and his friends, Walter "Arnie" Holmes, Elmer Smith, Robert Braxton, Frankie Bowens, Michael Banks and Tourism.

After receiving his first kidney transplant, Malcolm was awarded the National Kidney Foundation Service Award.
