He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis E. Vann and Sarah I. Vann; his wife Joyce Vann; his siblings, Gloria Williams, Calvin Vann, Alvin Vann and Wilbert Lee Vann, Sr. (Hazel L. Vann); his nephew Wilbert Lee Vann, Jr.; and his uncle Willie Vann, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, C. Michelle Vann (Derick) of Portsmouth, VA and Liquita James (Timothy) of Virginia Beach, VA.; his grandchildren, Wallace Vann (Hannah), Dontez Vann, Donald E. Newsome, Jr., Timothy James, Jr. and Aaliyah James; his great grandchildren, Davian Vann and Kingston Johnson; his grandchildren, Chinita Booth, Chris Arrington, Ashlee Mitchell, Alonte Booth, Deshara Harris, Shaniece Stephens, Tykerra Hamlin, Dureka Elliott, Diamond Battle and Darius Smith; his former wife Brenda Dunn (Karen Dawson) of Portsmouth, VA; and his grandson Ahmir Johnson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
