She was predeceased by: her parents, George W Terry Sr. and Lizzie Foster Terry; her husband Dallas Petersen; her siblings, Harriet Gaines, Christine Price, Shirley Terry, Verble Terry and Terry Jr.; her brother-in-law Roger Terry; and her nephews, Bobbie Terry and Melvin Walker.

She is survived by: her sons, Lewis Walton, Jr. (Sherrie), Terry Walton (Marcia), Gary Petersen (Diana) and Mike Petersen (Penny). She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
