He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert C. Stewart and Elizabeth Casteen Stewart; and his wife Catherine Conner Stewart. He is survived by : his children, Ralph L. "Butch" Stewart, Jr., Diane Koon (Terry) and Jennifer G. Stewart (David Culpepper); his grandchildren, Christopher Stewart, Kimberly Mingee (Mark) and Samantha Jones (Matt); and his great grandchildren, Alexandra and Allyson.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Oman Funeral Home & Crematory (653 Cedar Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23322). A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Chesapeake Memorial Gardens (524 Cedar Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23322).
