Stephen John Kimes Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Stephen John Kimes in Chesapeake, Virginia, born in Alliance, Ohio, who passed away on March 14, 2026 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Kimes and Betty Kimes; and his siblings, Ronald Kimes and Rowena Ferguson. He is survived by: his wife Jane Kimes; his daughters, Stephanie Kimes and Lindy Boyce; his son-in-law Matt Boyce; his granddaughters, Chloe and Keagan Boyce; and his sisters, Cindy Battershell (John Battershell) and Bonnie Grimes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Steve's honor to the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, an organization close to his heart or his Church Oak Grove United Methodist.
