He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clewis and Lillian Clewis; his friend Stanley Cohen; and his siblings, Marlin Clewis and Kerry Pross.
He is survived by: his close friends, Donald, Bonnie Guithues of Belhaven, N. C. and Charles Moore of Chesapeake, V. A; his wife Clara Clewis; his children, Crystal Clewis (Kenny) of Portsmouth, Charity Clewis Snyder of Chesapeake and Chad Prater (Shelly) of Chesapeake; his stepson Lonnie Prater (Shelly) of Pensacola, FL.; his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Brook, Ethan, Alana, Corey, Liam and Amari; and his brother Larry Clewis (Sereda). He is also survived by the mother of his children, she was a lifelong companion and friend.
