He was predeceased by : his parents, Miriam Louise Gaines McKnight and Stewart Davidson McKnight, Sr.. He is survived by : his wife Maureen Christina Glynn McKnight (Chris); his son William Scott McKnight (Jordan); his grandchildren, Lawson Moore, Alice Louise and William Adams of Birmingham; his son Jonathan Claiborne Hamlet (Rachel Sharrow) of Washington, D. C.; his brothers, Stewart Davidson (Corra McKnight), Williams Gaines (Sonja McKnight) and Clifton Weatherby (Martha McKnight); and his pet Buster Tuffy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
After retirement, hiking in Virginia State Parks during the pandemic was a very bonding experience for Tom, Chris, and the new pup Buster Tuffy.
