He was predeceased by: his brothers, Leroy and John. He is survived by: his wife Janet Marie; his children, Christine Lynn (Marco), Thomas Hutchison (Elizabeth) and Timothy Andrew (Cathy); his grandchildren, Thomas Hutchison (Sofie), Elliott McGill, Gillian McCoy, Caroline Grace, Lewis Young and Hana Christine; his great grandchildren, Thomas Hutchison and Walter John; and his parents, Weldon Kerns and Ruth Kerns (Creighton). He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Oman Funeral Home and Crematory (653 Cedar Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23322). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Albert G Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery (5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434).
