He was predeceased by: his parents, Katherine Burnell Rawls and James Burnell of Washington; his siblings, J. Robert Burnell and Gail B. Melchor; and his stepsister Julianne R. Cherry.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela S. Burnell; his children, Colleen C. Robinson (Gary), Robert Conery, Kathy C. Bucholz (Bill), Patrick A. Burnell, Katrina B. Kinnas (Dean), Melanie B. Rapp and Brock T. Burnell (Angie); and his stepson Christopher M. Sawyer. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter and a very large extended family.
