She was predeceased by: her husband James Purnell Long; her parents, Floyd F. Cutler and Cora Cutler; her daughter Sandra Spencer; her son-in-law Wayne Spencer; her son Larry Long; and her sisters, Myrtle Johnson and Florine Mansfield (Bobby).

She is survived by: her sons, James C. Long (Susan) of Roper, NC, Tony E. Long (Linda) of Currituck, NC, Donald L. Long (Sue) and Rodney L. Long (Donna) of Chesapeake, VA.; and her grandchildren, James Long, Jr., Christopher Long, Toby Long, Benjamin Long, Brian Long, Brandon Long, David Long, James Spencer, Sam Spencer, Matt Spencer, Tiffaney Ainsley and Brittany Davis. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
