She was predeceased by: her parents, John Tooley and Ruth Carawan Cuthrell; her brothers, Edward and Elbert Dewey "Duke" (Hoover); and her husbands, Rupert McNarl Satterthwaite, Sr. of Ponzer, NC and Zion Evans Rice of Swan Quarter.
She is survived by: her children, Rupert McNarl "Mack" Satterthwaite, Jr. (Bonnie), LaVerne Benns (Jim), William David Satterthwaite (Tracy) and Renee Rice (Michael Ogden); her grandchildren, Daniel (Resa), Sarah (Brad), Andrea, Bill (Amanda), Stephanie (Jarad), James and Matt (Ashley); and her great grandchildren, Zoey, Olive, Avery, Ivy, Waylon, Cannon and Leah. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
