She was predeceased by: her parents, John Gill McDonald and Ada Dunn McDonald; her husband James Thomas Smith Jr. of Chattanooga, TN; and her siblings, Katy of Reno, JL, Virgie, Wallace, Byrl, Jimmy, Johnny Ray and Lois Ann (James Thomas Smith Jr.).

She is survived by: her daughters, Pamela Hinton (David) and Julia Katherine Williams (Christopher); and her grandchildren, Liam Hinton, Peri Hinton, Claire Williams and Kyle Williams.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International for the purchase and placements of Bibles in memory of Brenda.
