We are sad to announce that on July 20, 2025, at the age of 65, Deacon Charles B. B. Geter Jr. of Chester, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his parents, Deacon Charles Geter, Sr. and Ernestine Boothe Geter; his siblings, Karen M. Geter and Dwayne M. Geter (Velma); his children, Chrystal Michelle Geter, Christopher Michael Geter and Coury Maurice Geter, Sr.; his significant other Barbara Taylor Geter; and his grandchildren, Coury "CJ" Geter, Amia Geter and Ava Muldrow. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc. (102 South Ave, Petersburg, VA 23803-4220). A wake was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Calvary Temple Church of Our Lord Jesus Chrisit (110 N Dunlop St, Petersburg, VA 23803). The military honors was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Olivet Baptist Church (800 Augusta Ave, Petersburg, VA 23803). A burial was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Southlawn Memorial Park (1911 Birdsong Rd, Petersburg, VA 23805). During the pandemic, Deacon Geter showed unwavering commitment by preparing the church sanctuary for worship each week, cleaning and sanitizing until his health would no longer allow.
