He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Cooper and Luna Scarborough Cooper; and his grandson Tyler Rex Gard. He is survived by: his daughter Anita Cooper; his pet Pepi Sue Cooper; his granddaughters, Kristin Williams (Matt) and Jessica Shuman (Rick); and his great grandchildren, Ethan Williams, Kinsley Williams and Cooper Shuman.
