She was predeceased by: her parents, Percy Lee Jones and Mattie Jane Cargill Jones; her grandsons, Carlos Sykes, Wesley Sykes and Walter Sykes III; her great grandchild Harmony Coleman-Jackson; her siblings, Martha Hardy, Queen E. Jones Parham and Percy Leroy Jones; and her son-in-law Raymond Coleman, Sr..

She is survived by: her cousin Daisy Lee Jones Sykes; her husband Walter Rudolph Sykes, Sr.; her children, Walter Sykes, Jr., Rolanda Kay Sykes, Vincent Urban Sykes, Sr. (Arlean) and Deborah Sykes-Coleman; her grandchildren, Vincent Urban Sykes, Jr. (Anita), Tawana, Kendra, Kadarra, Keosha, Raymond Coleman, Jr. (Kimberly), Alyssa and NaKeisha Wilson; her siblings, Rebecca "Beck" Mason of Petersburg, Hattie Lofton (Glenn) of Smithfield, Hazel L. Ebron of Silver Springs, Maryland and John W. Jones (Mary) of Fayetteville; her siblings-in-law, Stanley L. Sykes of Richmond, Virginia and Esther Sykes of Petersburg, Virginia; and her aunts, Russell Mae White, Emily Stith and Annie Ivory. She is also survived by thirty-five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
