He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Brown and Mollie Jefferson Brown; and his siblings, George, Thomas, Reginald, Wayne, William Beverly Brown, Sybilla Brosier, Myrtle Crafton, Katherine Warren, Verna Ingram and Edith Elaine Waller.
He is survived by: his wife Susie Winkey Brown; his daughters, Jean Yvette Brown Austin (Jeffrey Austin) of Leesburg, VA and Jennifer Brown Crochet (Dave Lehotay) of Norfolk, VA; his grandchildren, Sydney Austin, Mollie Austin, Fiona Crochet and Carter Crochet; his sister Evelyn B. Watson of Stafford, VA; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Vitto, Emily Winkey, Charles Winkey and George Winkey (Kyellye). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, former students, and dear friends.
