James Edward LaPrade Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Edward LaPrade of Chesterfield, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 25, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Janie; his siblings, Pete, Barbra Blackley and Evelyn Ellis; his sister-in-law Sandra Brooks; and his wife Carolyn.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Butler (Ray), Pam LaPrade and Eddie LaPrade; his grandchildren, Lanie Butler, Nathan LaPrade and Zachary LaPrade; his great grandchild Sophia Ansbro; his sisters, Rita Gordan (Gary) and Patricia Taylor (Steve); and his brothers-in-law, Gerald Daniel and Paul Brooks, Jr.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service (6500 Iron Bridge Rd, Richmond, VA 23234). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Dale Memorial Park No Charities (10201 Newbys Bridge Rd, Chesterfield, VA 23832).
