With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Rudolph Ransome of Chesterfield, Virginia, born in Plymouth, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edison Ransome and Luina Thomas; and his siblings, Beverly Bell, Ernest "Punchie" Boston, Desiree Ransome, David Ransome and Joseph Ransome (Rosa).
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ransome; his aunt Shirley Thomas; his siblings, Joyce Hyman (Emanuel), Ricky Bell (Diane), Peggy Thomas Arnold (Stuggart), Bobby Bell (Flora), Diane Kelly and Sandra Howell-Grant; his children, Seddrina Ferebee (Rufus), Iasia Ransome, Jeelan Jones (Otis), Shaheed Ransome (Atorria), Surayya Ransome and Charles Holloway; and his grandchildren, Shadae Doyle, Ramel Doyle (Jaiden Lee'Andre), Jada Goodson, Brandon Braxton (Juan), Otis R. Jones, III, Nia Jones, Shaheed Ransome, Jr. (Harli Toney), Ariyah Perry, King Ransome, Sa'raee Ransome and Saliah Ransome. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Jenkins Funeral Home (2011 Grayland Ave, Richmond, VA 23220).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in his honor.
