She was predeceased by: her parents, Ervin T. Melton and Zula G. McGee; her husband Paul J. Duffer; and her brother Ervin T. Melton, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughters, Zula Aileen Yeatts (George) and Rita F. Bostic (Brian); her grandchildren, Jeremy Yeatts (Colette), Rachel Yeatts (Chris), Rebecca N. "Nikki" Malone (Ryan) and Thomas Bostic; and her great grandchild Scarlette Yeatts.
