He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Carl Gillespie and Margaret Elana Gillespie; and his brother Lawrence Gillespie. He is survived by: his wife Annie M. Gillespie; his children, Jason D. Gillespie (Cindy) and Katie Clevenger (Chad); his grandchildren, T. J. Gillespie, Levi Gillespie, Jessica Jennell and Katelyn Jennell; his great grandchildren, Leah and Waylon; and his brother Michael Gillespie (Linda).
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service (6500 Iron Bridge Rd, Richmond, VA 23234). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
