He was predeceased by: his wife Clarkie Walker; his parents, William L. Walker and Lillie Mae Walker; and his brother Larry D. Walker. He is survived by: his daughters, Bessie Dean (Arthur), Sarah Dorman (Andre) and Geneva; his stepchildren, Eddie Harris (Cynthia), Timothy Walker (Keith) and Crystal Marlow (Derrick); his siblings, Nelson Walker (Carolyn) and Barbara Walker; his grandchildren, Arshelle Wells (Jerome), LaShonda White (Vernon), Melvin Walker (Cynthia), Dwane Walker, Leonta James, Erica Griffin, Brianna Tolliver and Marcus Tolliver (Cait); and his caregiver Courtney Barcliff. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joseph M. Johnson and Son Funeral Home - Petersburg Chapel (530 S Sycamore St, Petersburg, VA 23803). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
