He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Phillips and Catherine Phillips; his former wife Maxine McCroskey Phillips; his sisters, Clarice Blevins (Joe) and Eleanor; his stepsiblings, Beulah Dodds (Lester), James Barr (Wilma), Vaughn (Danford), Luther and J. B. Phillips (Wanda); and his brother-in-law John McClure.
He is survived by: his wife Pat; his caregiver Patricia; his sister Evelyn McClure; his stepdaughters, Sandy Howell (Jeff) and Kim White (Gary); his grandchildren, Kyle, Colby Howell (Franki), Kristin DeLancett (Terry) and Kaylee Crowe (Jared); and his great grandchildren, Addi Grace Howell, Trey, Hannah, Cierra, Gracie, Cody, Evelyn, Bailey, Avry DeLancett, Luke, Ezra and Judah Crowe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
