He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred Seymour Hughes; his parents, Bill Hughes and Margaret Hughes; and his siblings, Billy Ed, Isabell Hockett, Nancy Jones, Libby Overbay, Margaret Ann Tilson and Mary Perry.
He is survived by: his daughter Karen Gillespie (Ronnie); his grandchildren, Brandon Gillespie (Cary) and Chris Gillespie (Beth); his great grandchildren, Mason, Lincoln and Noah; his sisters, Carolyn Buchanan, Patricia McClure and Sue Byrd; his sisters-in-law, Tessie Hughes and Sue Glass; and his cousin Tommy Hughes. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his church family.
