She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander N. Taylor and Lillian Doris Hayes Taylor; her husband Douglas Eugene "Gene" Davidson; her son Marcus Allen Melton; her grandparents, Isaac Hobert, Carrie Mae Pennington Hayes, William (Bill) and Lessie Barr Taylor; and her sister-in-law Jean Taylor.

She is survived by: her son Jerry Otis Melton, Jr. (Kimberley) of Marion, Virginia.; her granddaughter Katelyn Grace Melton of Marion, Virginia; and her brothers, Larry Wayne Taylor of Seven Mile Ford, Virginia and Richard Stephen Taylor (Linda) of Atkins, Virginia.
