We announce the death of Linda Barrett of Chincoteague, Virginia, who passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 79. Linda will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Barrett and Nellie Barrett of Chincoteague; her sister Bonnie Blue Jones (Dickie Jones); and her husband Richard Ivan Dennis. She is survived by: her brothers, Wade Barrett (Betty) of Chincoteague and Icard Barrett (Sherry) of Bloxom; her children, Kathy Dennis Swartz (Bill) of Severna Park, Kendra Dennis Tucker of Salisbury and John Delbert Hudson of Chincoteague; her stepson David Hudson (Virginia) of Wallops Island; and her grandchildren, Robby Dennis, Rebecca Hudson, Nicholas Swartz, Christine Swartz Bisson (Steven), Casey Swartz (Evie), William Swartz and Bekah Pritchett. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
