She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Collins Sr. and Lottie Thornton Collins of Chincoteague; her parents-in-law, Walter and Emma Carpenter; and her siblings, Charlie-Boy (Julie Collins), Ora (Tom Reed), Carlton'Corky' (Francis Collins), Oneida (Russell Clark) and Faye (Sonny Rodgers).
She is survived by: her children, James Waine Carpenter Jr. (Robin Carpenter) and Jill Renee (Michael Jester); and her great grandchildren, Jake, Michelle Carpenter (Betty Lou), Ben, Kaitlin Jester, Zach and Lindsay Jester.
