He was predeceased by: his parents, C. F. Roop and Willie Farmer; his wife Bernice Roop; and his children, Wilbur Roop and Barbara Freeman.
He is survived by: his children, Tommy Roop, Parker Roop, Robyn Spinaci and Jackie Lear; and his grandchildren, Brady Roop, Chad Spinaci, Craig Spinaci, Crystal Spinaci-Mezei, Timmy Linkous, John Lear, Dee-Dee Barnes, Sherry Nelson, Timmy Lytton, Stephanie Marshall, Wil Oldham, Tia Oldham, Ryan Oldham and Dewayne Allen. He is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren.
