“Since I think Robert would have wanted this here, I'll post a picture of his 1971 Mercury Comet race car, named Gold Rush. As material things go, it was his life's work and quite a showcase of his talent as a builder. He toured the regional tracks with the Classic Gear Jammers from the late 80s-mid 90s and was an accomplished driver. Above all, I've never had a better friend, but also hope his contributions to the art of racing are remembered as he was always the innovator, took pride in his work like no one else, and I learned more from him than I can ever pay forward.”
