He was predeceased by: his mother Annis; and his wife Gaye. He is survived by: his stepfather Paul; his sister Darla; his daughters, Lora Howard (Gary) and Jennifer Rush (Nick); his grandchildren, Cody Rush (Tiffany), Forrest Rush (Marybeth), Gabbi Price (Logan), Clay Howard (Nikki), Micah Howard, Lilly Rush and Annaliise Howard; his great grandchildren, Abigail, Jackson Rush, Hallie Rush, Wrenley Price, Elowyn Howard and Jacqueline Rush; and his friends, Victor Kelsey and John Delap. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Alleghany Church of Christ (2095 N Franklin St, Christiansburg, VA 24073). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the Gaye Y Whitaker Memorial Fund (a charity named for his wife that supports local women battling cancer).
