She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur James Thomas of Churchville; her parents, David Milton Peyton and Ida Catherine Peyton (Huggard); her daughter Dorothy Cathleen Blume; and her brother Clarence Eugene Peyton.
She is survived by: her sons, Michael A. Thomas of Churchville and Arthur Thomas, Jr.; her son-in-law Achim Blume; her siblings, James "Jim" Peyton of Alexandria, Roger Peyton (Charlita) of Landover, MD, Mary C. Peyton of Mt. Solon and Denise Miller of Richmond; her grandchildren, Shantel, Aaliyah, Emma and Zola; her great grandchildren, Da'Shawn, Naima, Amari and Nyaira; her niece Aronda Washington; and her close friends, Margaret Morgan and Regina Canon.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Oaklawn Memory Gardens (1921 Shutterlee Mill Rd, Staunton, VA 24401).
